HISTORY

The Ferrari F40, launched in 1987 , is not just an iconic sports car; it embodies a living legend in automotive history . Designed to celebrate Ferrari's 40th anniversary , this revolutionary supercar was a bold statement of power and performance, capturing the imagination of car enthusiasts around the world.

The story of the Ferrari F40 begins in the Maranello workshops, under the vision of the late Enzo Ferrari himself. Aware that the F40 might well be his last major project before his death in 1988 , Enzo personally oversaw every detail of its development. The car was designed to be a road- legal racing machine, a testament to Ferrari's unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation.

Powered by a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, the F40 delivered an impressive 478 horsepower , capable of reaching a top speed of over 320 km/h at a time when such performance was rare. Every aspect of the car, from its lightweight carbon fiber structure to its aerodynamic design, was aimed at maximizing speed and agility on both road and track.

Aesthetically, the F40 is a masterpiece of functional design. Its low, wide silhouette, imposing air intakes, and large rear wing contribute not only to its aggressive appearance but also to its aerodynamic efficiency . Inside, the cabin is uncluttered and driver-oriented, with lightweight materials like Kevlar and aluminum, underscoring Ferrari's commitment to weight reduction to improve performance .

The Ferrari F40 didn't just set records on paper; it dominated on circuits around the world. Although Ferrari didn't design the F40 to officially compete in races, it was nevertheless used by private drivers and teams for competitions, often with impressive results. Its performance legacy is therefore supported not only by its technical specifications, but also by its exploits on the track.

In terms of recognition, the F40 has received critical acclaim and unanimous respect from sports car enthusiasts. It has been celebrated for its brutal handling and its ability to deliver a pure, uncompromising driving experience. Due to its rarity and iconic status , the F40 has also become a highly sought-after collectible, with values on the classic car market increasing significantly over the years.

Each Ferrari F40 therefore represents much more than just a vehicle; it embodies the essence of Italian automotive passion, combining tradition and innovation , raw performance and timeless elegance . Its impact on the automotive world is deeply rooted in its racing heritage, its avant-garde technology and its iconic design that continues to captivate generations of car enthusiasts around the world.

Creation process

For each creation , an initial phase of research and documentation is essential, covering the model, its origins , its designer , and its technical aspects.

The first step is to create the pencil sketch of each sketch , a meticulous work requiring great skill to capture all the details of the Ferrari. Then comes the inking phase with liner to accentuate the details. And finally, the artist carries out the coloring using alcohol markers and very soft pencils whose binder is wax-based.

Once the work is completed, the artist signs his works, dates them, and scans them to clean them up using professional software.

The artist spends about 15 days on the complete process , from the initial research phase to the final layout. This creation took almost 65 hours of work to complete.

Each work comes with a certificate of authenticity and two personalized stickers bearing the signature "TIMOTHE DESMONS." One sticker is affixed to the back of the work, while the other is attached to the certificate of authenticity.

* This creation was not created as part of an official collaboration with the brand.
